Version 3.1 of Oz Deathmatch
The main Focus of Version 3.1 will be to fix and add teamplay and mapping features. Improve the Bot Artificial Intelligence and incorporate better anti-cheat methods.
Also Starbreaker is working on a graphical interface to make managing your Config files easier.
If you are aware of any other issues that may need to be addressed, please send email to Sparken
Version 3.0 of Oz Deathmatch
Version 3.0 of Oz Deathmatch promises to be one of the smoothest running versions so far. I have optimized the code as much as possible and fixed all the bugs I could find.
The Super Glock Rune has been enhanced. The bots are smarter and can now leave the server as players join like they do in Unreal Tournament. Respawn protection is functioning properly and there is a chase-cam mode added to the observer view. Also the grappling hook has been enhanced to reduce getting stuck or yoyo-ing with the Super Hook Rune.
You will want to go over the Readme File and Config files thouroughly before upgrading. There have been several CVAR additions to give you more control over weapons and bots and since tracers and recoil are now functioning again, you may need to adjust their values.
The folder locations for the bot, nav, and botcycle.txt files are now selectable to avoid confusion when running the server in Oz, Valve or whatever you like. The Windows and Linux Releases should be ready simultaneously mid-June of 2002.
Version 2.4.1 of Oz Deathmatch
Version 2.4.2 will bring the bots back, add a teleport rune, hit location status, of where you are being hit, and where you are hitting the other guy.
Also I have taught the bots mercy. Now if your score is less than or equal to half of theirs, they will ignore you. If your score is more than half but less than 75%, you have a 50% chance they will attack you. Anything over that, and you are on your own.
And as the last thing I am doing, is making an HTML help file for the new version, that is looking pretty cool.
